Lamb clears sixteen elite crates before the Thursday lunch rush
Day six turned into day seven without much fanfare, but somewhere around a quarter past five in the morning Lamb decided Thursday would be a working day. Five hits at G23, one at G22, three more at W20, two at W15, one at S10, and a closing flurry of four straight at E25 to finish it: sixteen elite crates cracked open across six grids before half past one that afternoon. Nobody else on the island came within ten of that number all week.
Nameless Saint had his own good Friday. He fed the big wheel at K14 a thousand scrap and got nothing back, then fed it another thousand seconds later and watched it return six thousand, a two minute round trip that leaves him four thousand scrap ahead for the week. Down at the seabed, MrMyst spent thirty seven straight minutes pulling thirty seven crates off the bottom, and up in the sky WifeofMikroft rode a parachute out to 1,992 meters after stepping off a ledge ninety seven meters up. Fifteen days remain in the season, and none of it seems to have slowed anyone down.
The week's weather mostly stayed out of the way. Wednesday and Monday both ran clear start to finish, not a drop recorded in either. Friday turned squally, fog banks thickening to 0.55, and Sunday's showers were the most persistent stretch of the week, with rain turning up in fifteen percent of the day's samples. Nobody on Pure seems to own a raincoat, and nobody seems to need one.
Thirty two puzzle rooms and one very reliable clock
Wednesday night into Thursday's small hours, residents solved thirty two puzzle rooms across the island, and the digest's own numbers say something a little eerie about how the island keeps time: all but one of those rooms sat locked for almost exactly thirty minutes before paying out, to the second. The exception held for a little over an hour before anyone bothered to collect it. Down at AC0, TriGGanahmetry ran the keycard ladder clean through, level one to level three, over about fifteen minutes, wrapping up at 00:16. Nameless Saint went faster next door, clearing level one at H22 and levels two and three at G22 inside two minutes. And at W20, Winnikie's double swipe landed thirty eight seconds apart, the closest anyone has come all season to Big Tedies' twenty one second record from opening night. It still stands.
Nameless Saint loses a grand and wins four back on the very next spin
Friday afternoon at K14, Nameless Saint fed the big wheel a thousand scrap and got nothing back for it. Seconds later he fed it another thousand and watched it return six thousand, a two minute round trip that leaves him four thousand scrap ahead for the week. That evening MissSmoker settled into a Caboose slot machine for thirty one pulls at ten scrap each, cashing out at a net loss of 135 scrap. One resident matched that energy Saturday morning, splitting just over two minutes between the slots and the wheel for a net loss of 140. Sunday afternoon, Davy Jones took to K14 himself: one bet lost, the next came back even, and two more sat unresolved, 1,000 and 500 scrap apiece, when the week's ledger closed.
MrMyst clears the seabed in thirty seven minutes flat
Thursday afternoon, MrMyst worked the underwater crates for thirty seven straight minutes and came up with thirty seven of them, barely pausing between grabs. lll RED ll ran a shorter version of the same shift Sunday evening, seventeen crates in eleven minutes. The trench otherwise stayed a two person job: Mikroft and WifeofMikroft went down together Saturday afternoon for an hour and twenty one minutes, and did it again Monday afternoon for another hour and eighteen. Vicarious made the week's briefest appearance, two crates late Tuesday night and back up before midnight.
Ten hours alive, and an orchid to show for it
The longest recorded life of the week belonged to dAjOsh42069, ten hours and five minutes alive, twenty three animals and eighteen scientists down before it ended, with a little over 87 minutes of that spent inside monument walls. Elsewhere the fields stayed busy in the ordinary way: hemp, pumpkin, corn, wheat, potato, and both blue and red berries all came off the vine this week, plus one orchid, credited to Freedom, a flower that doesn't turn up in these logs often.
The vendor screen clears out at 2,250 scrap, over and over
The standard vendor sale on Pure keeps running at 750 scrap a trip, but six residents blew past it this week with 2,250 scrap sales apiece: Sour and Big Tedies both cashed in Friday, BarricadeJR got there Saturday night, and gerogenobby, Atari, and one of the newer arrivals all matched them Sunday. The smallest recorded sale of the week, 25 scrap, belonged to a resident just getting started. Up in the air, WifeofMikroft's Saturday parachute run of 1,992 meters off a 97 meter deployment dwarfed CheefinChum's opening week jump of 474 meters. Down at the water's edge, CheefinChum's line came up with a bucket of water instead of a fish on Sunday morning, while a newer face on the dock managed only an anchovy earlier in the week. One resident ran ten missions in eleven minutes flat on Friday afternoon, and underneath all of it the cargo ship kept its usual rhythm, arriving and leaving roughly every three to four hours without a single recorded incident.
Lamb's sixteen crate Thursday leaves the rest of the board in the dust
Nobody else came close. #?tonza managed seven elite crates across four grids, dAjOsh42069 and Nameless Saint both stopped at six, gloobie and EasyStr33t matched each other at four, and Cheeseburger Royal closed with three. Sam4207158's forty three minute sprint to the season's first elite crate, set on wipe day, went unchallenged again this week: nobody logged a faster cold start. And EasyStr33t, whose hours sat frozen at 108.8 through all of week one, has finally moved: the tracker now reads 184. His NPC total still sits outside that category's top ten.
Davy Jones left two wheel bets spinning unresolved at K14, 1,000 and 500 scrap, when this week's books closed. Whether the wheel finally pays him back.
Whether anyone tops Lamb's sixteen crate Thursday, or MrMyst's thirty seven crates in thirty seven minutes, before the season's final stretch.
EasyStr33t's hours finally started moving this week. Whether his NPC count reaches the island's top ten before the season closes.
