The season hands out its final records as a new island opens for business
Season 2026-08 closed its books the way these things always do, quietly, with the numbers settling into place rather than anyone throwing a party. crass_user ends the season on top of the kill column with 3,962 NPCs put down, X_X T0A5T3D closes it out with 683 Gold Coin looted, and Yadernij_Gus, a name that barely troubled the weekly standings while it mattered, takes the season's playtime record outright at 184 hours and 48 minutes. The three of them never shared a single week atop the same board.
Then, at TUE 00:28, before the old seed had finished being tallied, a new island opened under seed 1970479863, four thousand units on a side, the sky clear enough that the day earned the word outright, a rarity worth remarking on. Grid R-3 turned up again, a coincidence of the map's own numbering rather than memory, and tgm.master had it cracked to a level three lock inside three minutes of finding it. By nightfall the fresh island had logged 63 fights with its own guards, MB had lifted 37 crates off the seabed before lunch, and Felecis had closed a life not yet four hours old with 117 players dead behind them, credited on the books with zero hours of prior playtime.
Two days remain on this opening chapter before the numbers start mattering again. The next issue starts the count from one.
Sixty three fights with the guards before the first day is even old
The new island's guards had a rough opening stretch: 63 separate fights logged between TUE 00:40 and TUE 21:16, barely a day old before the scientists started losing count. TheFlyingCow led the field with fourteen fights, working the Water Treatment Plant five times over and Oxum's Gas Station four times more without settling on one address. MB matched the range with twelve fights, seven of them at Fishing Village_C alone, plus a pair each at the Lighthouse and Harbor_Large. Tken toured eleven addresses from the trainyard's sniper nest to a pair of substations and back to a signal tower. tgm.master, for his part, only needed four fights and one very good vault to make his morning.
Grid R-3 opens again, this time to a different name
Grid R-3 turns up on every seed by coincidence of the map's own numbering, not memory, but the door still knows how to make an entrance. tgm.master swiped it from level one to level three in under three minutes, TUE 01:15 to TUE 01:18, and walked off with two elite loots before most of the island had logged in. Elsewhere the day's vault runs came in pairs: TheFlyingCow swiped grid G8 to level two twice, at TUE 05:15 and again at TUE 12:45, and Tken did the same at grid N13, matching level one and two swipes at TUE 08:13 and again at TUE 13:29. The day's puzzles ran wide open on timing, the quickest giving up its loot in under four hours, the slowest holding out for fifteen hours and forty two minutes.
Felecis logs zero hours and a hundred and seventeen kills
The genetics log ran busy early: TreeGoat pulled the same red berry genome, YGYYYG, twice within two and a half hours, and TheFlyingCow worked through five different crops start to finish, corn twice, then blueberry, hemp, and wheat, never repeating a genome. The lives told a louder story. Felecis closed one at TUE 05:25 after three hours and fifty seven minutes alive, 117 players dead and 30 scientists besides, against a playtime record that shows zero hours logged. MB matched the morning's violence with a life of their own, one hour and thirty four minutes alive for forty players dead, then returned a few hours later for a quieter second life, two hours and twenty four minutes long, closing on 17 players and six scientists. Not every life ran that hot: HOBO 3Jane's fifty three minutes ended with one dead animal and nothing else to report.
The vendor's only sale of the day
MB sold 125 scrap to the vendor at TUE 06:19, the only recorded sale on an island still finding its feet. Everything else stayed in pockets, waiting for the shredder and the cargo ship to find their own rhythm in the days ahead.
Thirty seven crates before lunch, and nobody else even wet
MB had the seabed to themself on opening day: fifteen crates between TUE 04:43 and TUE 04:52, then twenty two more between TUE 07:12 and TUE 07:46. Thirty seven crates in total, a full day's diving compressed into two sittings, and not one other name on the island logged so much as a single crate.
Tken learns three skills in three seconds
TreeGoat opened the skill dumps early, three skills in nine seconds at TUE 02:28 and eight more across forty seconds at TUE 03:16, eleven for the morning. Tken went faster later in the day, three skills learned between TUE 17:23:15 and 17:23:18, three seconds start to finish. maks.internetov logged the day's only recorded heal, back on their feet the same second they went down, at TUE 10:47.
Grading the season's three predictions
Issue one asked whether crass_user's 45.7 hour head start would turn into a season long lead. Call it half right. crass_user closes the season on top of the kill board at 3,962 NPCs, the same name that led it back at day 20 too, but the season's playtime record went to Yadernij_Gus at 184 hours and 48 minutes, a name that never once cracked the weekly top ten while it was happening. The head start held for one column and not the other.
The Ferry Terminal's reputation for drawing the first fight of a wipe went two for two, sort of. It opened the season's first wipe outright, il-nul finding it inside the opening minutes back in issue one. This new wipe it placed second, TreeGoat arriving at TUE 02:06, a little over an hour behind Abandoned Cabins. Call the prediction a coin flip that landed right once out of two.
As for whether somebody would end the season holding Gold Coin they never spent, the ledger simply doesn't keep that book. It counts what gets looted, never what gets held or spent, so the claim closes unproven either way, which is its own kind of answer.
Whether tgm.master's three minute clearance of grid R-3, two elite pulls included, sets the pace for the new season or was just good luck on a rare clear morning.
Whether MB's thirty seven crate day and Felecis's hundred and seventeen kill life turn into season long habits or stay opening day noise.
Whether TheFlyingCow's early lead, fourteen monument fights and eleven hours logged before the map turned a day old, survives contact with a full season.
