A single life runs almost a full day and ends with three hundred and twenty four scientists dead
Somewhere in the small hours of Thursday, JustKobe logged out of a life that had lasted 23 hours and 58 minutes, a little over four of them spent inside monuments and barely eight minutes of it asleep. The tally on the way out: 324 scientists, 246 players, 85 animals. Most residents don't stay upright that long across a whole week, let alone one sitting.
Everything else on the island kept to a more ordinary rhythm. X_X T0A5T3D holds the top of the standings on 147 hours and 56 minutes with 3,149 NPCs to their name, crass_user and Bagadonuts close behind, and JustKobe's own 100 hours and 42 minutes of playtime sit fourth on the board, that one marathon life apparently the least of what they've been up to. The week ran unsettled more often than not: Wednesday and Monday both turned squally, fog thickening to 0.55 on both days and again on Tuesday's thundery close, well past the island's usual 0.35 haze. Only Saturday, at 7% unsettled, came close to calm.
Fifteen days remain. The island has never once needed to hurry.
PUSHING P visits twelve monuments before sunrise, wins a purge in between
Eighty separate fights with the island's guards ran back to back between WED 22:02 and THU 03:56, barely six hours end to end. PUSHING P alone accounted for twelve of them, working through a Large Barn, Oxum's Gas Station, a Mining Outpost, two signal towers, both Train Tunnels, a Military Tunnel, a substation and the Ferry Terminal without pausing long enough to change gear, and still found time at WED 23:15 to win the purge outright. zixanara matched the range if not the pace, eight fights from the Abandoned Supermarket to a Large Oil Rig, and The Stoic One split six between an Abandoned Military Base, the Water Treatment Plant and the Train Yard, twice each.
The R-3 vault gets cracked four times before lunch
zixanara opened grid R-3 first, three keycard swipes climbing to level three and a crate popped at THU 00:05, paying out two elite loots on the spot. Yadernij_Gus found the same door twice more before THU 08:05, cracking it again at 03:32 and 06:25 and 08:05, each visit good for another pair of elite pulls, six in total, eight across the whole morning from one grid. A level three swipe at K29 an hour later found only a single elite crate waiting, as if the island had budgeted for it. Elsewhere Raven kept returning to door V11, six separate level one swipes between THU 03:19 and THU 10:29 without once climbing higher, the kind of persistence that deserves better luck than it got. Puzzle solve times ran from a brisk 31 minutes to one outlier that sat unresolved for just over 23 hours before finally giving up its loot at THU 09:08.
One life runs a day, one pair of hands runs the greenhouse
Away from JustKobe's marathon, the week's other lives ran shorter and bloodier: The Stoic One's 9 hours and 48 minutes closed on 93 players and 193 scientists, DaveThePleb's 9 hours and 40 minutes on 94 and 71, FotonovBaton stretched to 16 hours and 2 minutes for 53 and 79. Back in the dirt, C@ptainL logged fifteen separate harvests between THU 01:17 and THU 08:48, yellow and blue berries mostly, the busiest set of hands the greenhouse saw all week while everyone else managed one or two.
The vendor takes in 4,200 scrap, most of it in familiar hands
Twenty four vendor sales moved 4,200 scrap through the week, and DaveThePleb alone accounted for six of them, 125 scrap each time, never varying the amount, like a standing appointment. Three cars met the shredder on Wednesday afternoon and nothing since. murt split time between diving and fishing, landing a salmon and a smallshark on Sunday and troutsmall on both Monday and Wednesday, and Snail Nipple's one recorded parachute jump on TUE 08:04 covered 1,954 units in under 22 seconds of air time.
murt breaks the season's dive record with fifty six crates in twenty five minutes
Riptic opened the week's diving quietly, thirteen crates on Wednesday and nine more on Friday, solid outings that would have led most weeks. Then on Sunday afternoon murt went in at SUN 17:04 and didn't stop until 17:29, fifty six crates in that single stretch, well past the thirty nine that stood as the previous mark. The seabed, it turns out, had more to give.
yaku's wheel gets hotter than it was last week
The wheel that paid yaku 385 scrap a week ago paid him 1,785 this time, an 85 scrap bet at grid J14 on SAT 01:12 returning more than twenty times over, and 510 more before the session closed. Machechine had a rougher night at the same table two days later, staking 51 scrap twice and getting back 26 and nothing. Over on the slot machines, a cluster of newer arrivals fed the caboose twenty one spins running on Friday for 42 scrap paid and not one scrap returned, the house doing exactly what a house does.
zixanara learns ten skills in twenty one seconds
Skill dumps ran through the small hours: DaveThePleb banked six at WED 22:26, PUSHING P six more at WED 23:01, and zixanara topped them both with ten skills learned between THU 23:11:25 and 23:11:46, twenty one seconds start to finish. JustKobe and Raven each managed two separate bursts of seven and eight later in the morning. Amid it all, at WED 23:09:28, Yadernij_Gus went down wounded and was back on their feet the same second, credited to FotonovBaton's assist, the tidiest bit of teamwork logged all week.
Whether Yadernij_Gus's R-3 habit survives now that the door has paid out eight times in under nine hours, or whether the island finally locks it for good.
Whether JustKobe's near day long life stands as the season's benchmark with two issues left to beat it.
Whether murt's fifty six crate Sunday holds as the deep sea record, or whether the seabed has one more surprise before day 28.
