The wreckage of wipe day turns into a ledger
By Wednesday the island had stopped introducing itself and started keeping books. Eighty scientists' worth of gunfire on the first afternoon has settled into a rhythm of vendor runs, wheel spins, and the odd vault that takes half a working day to crack. X_X T0A5T3D leads the standings on 90 hours and 18 minutes with 2,426 NPCs to their name, Bagadonuts sits close behind on 2,381, and everyone else is still catching up to a week that started with the Ferry Terminal drawing blood before most tents were pegged down.
The weather cooperated less than the residents would like early on. Friday and Saturday both ran to a third unsettled, and Monday's fog bank thickened to 0.78, more than double the island's usual haze, before the skies gave up and cleared: Wednesday closed the week at just 17% unsettled, the calmest stretch anyone's logged this season.
Twenty two days remain. The island has stopped pretending it isn't watching.
Eighty fights before dinner, and one resident found a fifth of them
Wipe day's opening afternoon logged 80 separate skirmishes with the island's guards between THU 14:49 and THU 18:18, barely three and a half hours. il-nul accounted for 15 of them alone, working through the Ferry Terminal, the Satellite Dish, the Water Treatment Plant, and the trainyard's sniper nest without once slowing down. Bagadonuts, by contrast, found one address and kept returning to it, hitting Oxum's Gas Station five separate times and trying nowhere else all day. Dosenwurst split the difference, splitting seven fights between the Junkyard and a pair of substations.
Three residents, three doors, four swipes each
Forty seven puzzles came open across the island this week, all anonymous by the time the loot moved, and 32 keycards got swiped doing it. The slowest of the vaults took seven hours and thirty six minutes to crack, THU 21:57, and was empty again within ten seconds. Meanwhile three residents each found a door they liked and stuck with it: Elsinister swiped grid C9 four times before midnight, Kerrypants did the same at C5, and crass_user rotated between V2 and V11 five times total. Nobody explained why.
Hemp everywhere, and a few lives worth mentioning
The greenhouse traffic ran heavily to hemp this week, with corn, wheat, pumpkin, and one lonely blueberry harvest filling out the rest of the genetics log. Away from the dirt, ScubaStank logged the longest single life of the week, three hours and thirty eight minutes alive, closing with 25 kills and enough time to still bank nearly twenty minutes inside a monument. Not everyone made the most of their time: one of the newer arrivals spent three quarters of their entire 39 minute life asleep, waking only long enough to log back off.
The vendor took in 2,625 scrap and the cargo ship kept its schedule
Scrap moved steadily through the week's vendor windows, fourteen separate sales totalling 2,625 scrap, with Dartan alone unloading 600 in a single Sunday and DaveThePleb's three visits adding up to 725 over two days. The cargo ship made ten recorded departures between Sunday and Wednesday, none of them claimed by name. Fourteen cars met the shredder across four separate nights, and one resident spent the better part of a day fishing, landing eight catches from salmon down to catfish after two failed casts to start.
Two divers, thirty five crates, then thirty nine
Snail Nipple opened the week's diving with a marathon on wipe day itself, twenty crates inside the first forty five minutes and another fifteen before sunrise, thirty five in a single stretch. murt answered two days later with a Saturday haul of thirty nine crates spread across the afternoon, the highest single day tally logged this week. Between the two of them the seabed did not get much rest.
A wheel, 564 scrap, and nothing to show for it
Sunday morning belonged to DarkStalker, who staked 564 scrap on a single spin of the big wheel at grid J14 and got back exactly none of it, the largest single wager and the largest single loss of the week in one stroke. Sunday afternoon belonged to yaku, who ran a fourteen minute session at the same wheel and pulled three separate payouts of 385, 210, and 234 scrap between a long string of smaller losing bets. Later that same session, a fresh face at the table turned a 14 scrap bet into a 294 scrap payout, better than twenty times the stake, before the wheel quietly took most of it back over the following hour.
Fisher wins the purge three times, then learns twelve skills in eighteen seconds
Fisher had the busiest ledger on the island this week: a purge win Thursday afternoon, another past midnight, a third the following day, and a burst of twelve skills learned in eighteen flat seconds on Friday. Bagadonuts matched the skill-dump energy without the purge wins, banking fourteen skills across two separate sprints. S.T.I.V found the elite crate at grid M18 six times in under two hours on Friday morning, and JustKobe's most violent recorded life closed at 47 kills in under two hours, better than one every three minutes.
il-nul's Ferry Terminal habit turned out to be no fluke at all: fifteen monument fights in one afternoon and counting. Whether that pace holds for a full season is still open.
The C9 vault stayed hot all week, four swipes from Elsinister alone. Whether Fisher's three purge wins in a single day was a peak or the new normal.
Whether yaku's wheel finishes the season in profit or hands it all back, and whether murt's thirty nine crate Saturday survives as the seabed's best mark before day 22 runs out.
