The island opens six doors in two bursts and calls off the war by nine in the morning
Thirty one residents spent 424 hours on Vanilla Quad this week, the season's board crediting them with 37 kills and a best kill to death ratio that still refuses to move off 0.00. The fighting, what there was of it, was over before nine on Thursday morning. The loot did not slow down at all.
Two elite loot rushes bookended the middle of the week. Thursday morning, three elite crates paid out within six minutes of each other at C20, C21, and K23, right on top of a crate spawn cluster at C20, H24, and I24. Friday afternoon the island repeated the trick eleven grids west, three more elite crates emptying inside eight minutes at W10, W10 again, and X7, while crates started at W10, W11, and M5 within a minute of one another. Between the two rushes, four keycard swipes went through, three of them level one, one a level two at Q13. A puzzle room finished sometime Wednesday and sat untouched for very nearly 23 hours before anybody came back for it on Thursday morning, the longest wait of the week.
The weather mostly behaved. Wednesday and Thursday were properly clear, Friday and Saturday drifted into passing showers, and Sunday turned into the week's most unsettled day, rain touching 14 percent of its samples. Monday brought a squall that pushed the fog bank to 0.55, the same spike the ledger logged the Monday before it. Tuesday wiped the slate clean again.
Six elite crates, two bursts, one door that took its time
The alarms desk logged ten crate spawns, four keycard swipes, and three puzzle rooms cracked across four days this week, and two of those days did all the interesting work. Thursday morning saw crates start at C20 twice, then H24, then I24, all inside six minutes, and the elite loot log answered with first-loots at C20, C21, and K23 in the same stretch. Friday afternoon the pattern repeated at the other end of the map: three crates at W10 and one at W11 inside twenty two seconds, a fourth at M5 twenty minutes later, and three elite first loots at W10, W10 again, and X7 within eight minutes. Between the two rushes, keycards swiped through at R9 and H19 at level one, and a level one and level two pair went through together at P13 and Q13 early Saturday. Puzzle rooms told a slower story: the quickest solve to loot turnaround took 5 hours and 52 minutes, but two rooms this week ran far longer, one finishing 18 hours and 10 minutes after it first appeared, another sitting for very nearly 23 hours before anybody came back for it.
Twenty three kills, one life, eighty two minutes
The longest recorded life of the week ran 7 hours and 7 minutes, closing with 9 players and 2 scientists killed along the way. It was not, however, the most violent one logged: a much shorter life, barely 1 hour and 22 minutes start to finish, closed with 23 players dead, the highest single-life kill count of the week. A third life took the opposite approach entirely, running a little over 3 hours and spending 2 hours and 4 minutes of it standing inside monument grounds, with nothing to show at the end but four dead animals.
Four kills, twenty five minutes, all at arm's length
Every recorded kill this week landed inside the same twenty five minute window on Thursday morning. An F1 grenade opened the account at V5, and beancan grenades finished it at P8, P7, and P17, every one of them logged at zero range. Nothing has traded hands since.
A grenade, then three more just like it
Thursday morning, an F1 grenade closed a fight at V5 with nothing left to argue about. Seven minutes later a beancan grenade did the same at P8, then another at P7 twenty seconds after that, and a third at P17 seventeen minutes on. Four kills, four explosions, and not one of them further than arm's length from where it landed.
Two vendor runs, five days, the same 750 scrap
Two vendor sales cleared this week, each one landing on exactly 750 scrap, one on Saturday and the other the following Wednesday. That is 1,500 scrap moved through the vendors in eight days, and neither sale varied by so much as a scrap from the other.
The names hold, the ratios barely move
oji3 leads the board on hours alone, 78 hours and 26 minutes played for 8 kills against 22 deaths. KanoN holds the best ratio in the top ten, 1.60, from the same 8 kills but only 5 deaths. ThatGuyDutton has slipped to third on time played, 24 hours and 5 minutes, still carrying 7 kills against 22 deaths. Bray remains the board's only clean split, 3 kills for 3 deaths across 21 hours and 24 minutes. rabidkevin has logged 9 minutes on the island this week and traded nothing either way.
Last issue closed on a battlefield that had gone quiet since Saturday. This week it woke up for exactly twenty five minutes on Thursday morning, four kills by grenade, and then went quiet again. With eight days left on the clock, next issue will say whether that was the last gasp or just a pause.
Last issue's monument traffic piled onto a single grid. This week the island spread the same trick across two separate clusters eleven grids apart. Whether a third rush lands somewhere new, or one of these two grids becomes the season's favourite, is next issue's to answer.
Monday's fog climbed to 0.55 for the second week running, same spike, same day. If it happens a third time, it stops looking like weather and starts looking like a schedule.
