The wipe day briefingEarly edition
A new island rises at 13:50, and the first alarms go off within the hour
The map generated at 13:50:06 EDT off seed 1114005974, three thousand eight hundred and fifty units of coastline with no fence yet standing on any of it. By the top of the next hour the loot tables had already produced six keycard swipes and two puzzle rooms cracked open, which is the island's way of saying that whatever else resets, muscle memory does not.
Thirteen residents logged on before the day was out. Between them they managed four kills, and the community ledger's own arithmetic returned a best K/D of 0.00 even as three names on the board are sitting at a perfect 1.00. Early wipe math has never been anybody's strong suit.
Weather stayed out of it entirely. Thursday came in clear across every sample taken, not a cloud logged all day, an easy debut for a landmass that still has everything left to prove.
Six swipes, two puzzles, and a landmass still cooling
The first hour and change of the wipe produced six keycard swipes spread across four grids, two of them at the same door twice over, and a brief upgrade from a level 2 card to a level 1 pass minutes later at another. Two puzzle rooms gave up their loot in that window, one after 52 minutes of work and roughly 19 and a half minutes of sitting untouched before that, the other after about 65 and a half minutes with a wait of some 35 minutes before anyone got to it. Nothing here suggests patience is in short supply on day zero.
Four cars, twenty six seconds, one shredder having a day
Four cars went into the shredder back to back in the space of twenty six seconds, a burst efficient enough to suggest someone had been saving them up since before the map even finished loading.
A first life spent mostly outdoors and never once at war
One life story logged for the day reads like a quiet holiday: no kills against players, animals, or scientists, a little over 30 minutes spent wild, a brief stop at a monument under five minutes long, and all of three seconds of sleep in the whole stretch. Whoever it was, the island hasn't gotten to them yet.
The kill count resets, the record books do not
Song leads the young kills table with a single confirmed kill and a perfect record so far, tied on the scoreline by stealey, Freddy Floppin Ficklefins III, and BlackPhantom, each also sitting at 1.00 with a kill apiece. The community ledger counts four kills total across thirteen players and eight hours of logged play, alongside a stated best K/D of 0.00, an odd line for a table that already lists three residents at 1.00, though the wipe is young enough to forgive the math. Waiting behind all of it are last season's numbers: 41 kills stands as the wipe record, a 4.33 K/D as the mark to beat, and 338.9 hours logged by the wipe's most dedicated resident. New season, same targets.
Forty one kills, a 4.33 K/D, and 338.9 hours, all filed under last wipe now
Before the map went dark, Jeff "Fortnite" Goldblum closed the books with 41 kills, a number the new season now has to chase from zero. SEVON's 4.33 K/D stands as the sharpest ratio the server has on file. ChiWild100Bang logged 338.9 hours on that map alone, which is not far off two straight weeks of a life spent almost entirely on one island that no longer exists. All three numbers survive only as records now. The dirt they were earned on is gone.
Someone crosses 41 kills before the season closes, if only because the record has stood for exactly one wipe.
A resident quietly passes 300 hours logged on this map well before day 28 arrives.
The K/D leaderboard produces a name at 4.00 or better by the time the finale is written.
Whether the four kills logged this week are the start of a real ladder or just the wipe's opening jitters.
Whether the puzzle rooms keep falling at the pace they opened with, or whether the map's harder doors start pushing back.
Whether that community best K/D of 0.00 corrects itself once more than a handful of fights have happened.
