Eleven kills in twenty one minutes, then four days of silence
The island logged eighteen keycard swipes, eighteen crates cracked open and eighteen kills this week, a tidy little coincidence that the ledger does not explain and the island certainly did not plan. Most of that killing arrived in one place: starting at 23:11 on Saturday night, the ground around F10 and F11 near Underground Cave turned into a running fight that produced eleven kills in twenty one minutes, shotgun to assault rifle to revolver to a jackhammer swung at point blank range. It was better than three in every five of the week's kills, all inside one clearing, and once it ended the guns did not fire again for the rest of the window.
Small Harbor did the week's quieter but steadier business, its B20 and B21 doors alone answering for eight of the eighteen crate starts and five of the twelve elite first-loot claims recorded across the map. Military Tunnel, silent for most of the week, closed it out with a burst of its own, three elite first-loot claims twelve seconds apart on Wednesday afternoon. The vendors moved 3,525 scrap across seven trips, more than half of it in one Saturday night sale, and the planters turned out only seven harvest sessions, the quietest the farm has been all wipe.
Wednesday opened the week under a genuinely clear sky, the rare kind the island only manages once in a while. The cloud thickened through Thursday, settled into passing showers by Friday and held there through Saturday, tipped into proper showers on Sunday, then turned squally on Monday with the thickest fog bank of the week, 0.55 against the island's usual 0.35 haze. Tuesday eased back to passing showers to close the window.
Small Harbor carries the week's crate traffic
The doors and crates settled into an oddly matching arithmetic this week: 18 keycard swipes, 18 crates started, 21 puzzle rooms cleared out. Small Harbor did the heavy lifting on the crate side, its B20 and B21 doors accounting for eight of the eighteen starts and five of the twelve elite first-loot claims recorded across the map, most of it landing in two dense bursts a day apart. The keycard traffic itself stayed modest all week, level one and two swipes at Airfield, the Dome, Water Treatment Plant, Train Yard and Power Plant, with no level three card recorded anywhere. Military Tunnel, quiet for most of the window, closed it out with a burst of its own, three elite first-loot claims twelve seconds apart on Wednesday afternoon. Puzzle timing swung from a room sealed for very nearly twenty four hours to others cracked inside forty minutes of unlocking.
A quiet week at the beds, and one very tidy genome
Seven sessions went into the planters this week, a quiet stretch by the island's usual standards. White berry, green berry, corn and hemp all took a turn, alongside two yellow berry harvests that turned up the identical six letter genome twenty eight minutes apart on Monday afternoon, tidier record keeping than the farm usually manages.
One sale did half the week's business
Seven trips to the vendor moved 3,525 scrap through the island's stalls this week. The heaviest single sale, 2,250 scrap, went through late Saturday night, more than half the week's total turnover in one trip. Monday brought a tidy run of four identical 125 scrap sales back to back, and the week closed Wednesday with a token 25 scrap trade, the smallest of the season so far.
Most lives stayed private this week
Fifty five lives closed their books this week, most of them briefer than an hour spent living dangerously. The longest ran 7.2 hours and spent over an hour of it dug into a monument, killing eighteen animals and twenty one scientists without ever crossing paths with another person. A shorter life, five hours and thirty seven minutes, spent nearly all of it, four hours and fifteen minutes, sitting at base, and left the island having killed only three animals for its trouble. Busier still was a four hour and forty five minute stretch that ended with three player kills, ten animals and thirty two scientists to its name, easily the bloodiest single life the week turned up. Somewhere in the middle, one stay ran two hours and fifty three minutes and spent one hour and eighteen minutes of it simply asleep.
The cave fight was the only one that mattered
Wednesday night opened the week's account with two kills a minute apart at S2, a crossbow first, an SMG finishing at point blank range. Thursday's small hours produced a heavier exchange in the T zone, three kills in two minutes, the last a bolt-action rifle shot that closed at 47.7 metres. Then nothing for two and a half days. When the shooting returned Saturday afternoon it opened quietly with a stonehatchet kill at Underground Cave and a lone kill at grid R15 that night. Then, in the twenty one minutes after 23:11, the cave fighting turned into the week's real story: eleven kills traded across F10 and F11, shotgun to assault rifle to revolver to jackhammer, closing at point blank range just before half past eleven. It accounted for eleven of the eighteen kills logged this week, better than three in every five, and once it ended the guns stayed quiet for the remaining four days of the window.
LogicFN takes the lead on kills
LogicFN has taken the wipe's kill lead this week, 27 kills against 54 deaths in 119 hours and 44 minutes, edging past BIGFISH94's 24. BIGFISH94 still holds the island's sharpest kill to death ratio at 4.80, built on a little over 8 hours played, and both marks now stand as this wipe's live records. Jeffrey1657 remains the wipe's most travelled resident by hours, 180 hours and 2 minutes on the clock, though the ledger against that time still reads 6 kills to 87 deaths.
Half the elite loots went to one hand
Eight of the week's eighteen keycard swipes came from a single resident, better than four in ten of everything the doors saw. The busiest hand at the planters managed three of the week's seven harvest sessions, and the longest life anyone lived ran 7.2 hours. Half of the week's twelve elite first-loot claims went to one resident, while the top scrap seller only cashed in 25, the quietest showing the honours list has handed that title all season.
Whether Underground Cave stays the island's hot corner after Saturday's eleven kill stretch, or the fighting drifts away the way it left S2 behind this week.
Whether Military Tunnel's closing burst turns into a fixture, with Missile Silo and any level three keycard traffic still nowhere to be seen this week.
Whether the kill count keeps sliding toward wipe's end, down to 18 this week from 33 the week before and 42 the week before that, with eight days left on the clock.
